Another mystery solved

On the back of my success using Facebook to find the Fieldings in Australia, I thought I'd have another go at finding Rose's grand-daughters, Carmen and Meritxell. Their father is Addi's cousin Russell, and he married a Lolita Bordell in Canada where he subsequently settled. We have many pictures of the two girls as children, dressed in confirmation dresses etc. and I'm keen to find out what happened to that branch.

I did endless searches on google and Facebook etc.. this afternoon trawling for anything that might throw them up when I did a person search on Canada's whitepages site. I had previously found mention of Meritxell Dixson-Bordoll Papaspyrou in an alumni magazine from 2002, with the following information:

St George's Montreal 2002, Class of 1969: "Meritxell Dixson-Bordoll Papaspyrou - is married with a grown son in university. She and her husband travel extensively for both business & pleasure, maintaining residences in both Ottawa,Ontario, and Mont St. Hilaire, Quebec, Canada."

This at least gave me her husband's name and a couple of possible addresses, so I looked up Papaspyrou in Mont-St-Hilaire which gave me two listings. Another search finds Meritxell Dixson-Bordoll Papaspyrou living in Beloeil, QC aged 57 (which would have been derived from census information I imagine). I don't subscribe to the site, so couldn't get further.

I then searched under Dixson-Bordoll and find a Dixson-Bordoll M D, living in Mont-Saint-Hilaire.

But who is M D Dixson-Bordoll? Not Russell, not Lolita, not Meritxell (who's married) and not Carmen...

THEN, I googled Lolita's name and found, to my excitment, Russell's obituary, which contained the answer! M D is Maria Dolores.... Her nickname was Lolita!! So, she is alive and living in Mont-St-Hilaire! More names are mentioned in the obit, but I cannot find ANYthing on them at all, apart from a possible address/tel for an M Peluso in Mont-Saint-Hilaire. Is this Michael? Is he Carmen's husband? How old are the children I wonder, and where are they?

Dixson-Bordoll, Russel A. OBITUARY RUSSEL A. DIXSON-BORDOLL A.M.I. Chem E, P. Eng Born in London, England, the 2nd of January 1920 died peacefully in his home in St-Hilaire, November 14, 2008. He was greatly loved and he will be so greatly missed by his wife, Maria Dolores (Lolita), his daughters Meritxell and Carmen, his son-in-law, Michael Peluso and his beloved grandchildren, Jordi, Michaela and Gabriella. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Notre-Dame du Bon Conseil, 120 Gervais street, Otterburn Park, Qc. Published in the Montreal Gazette on 11/19/2008.

This throws up more questions, but I'm delighted to have found more information on Rose's family.
