I got replies from both of his children so I emailed John's new email address and we've now started on a journey of discovery to fill in our missing pieces.

His mother is in touch with her cousin Lillian whose father is the FORDs' eldest brother, Charles Joseph. He is my 'mystery' brother as I can't trace him past the 1911 census, despite having found the births of his children. John's mother Margo has been to visit Lillian several times, and she's still living in Bognor Regis, which is very exciting to discover. Apparently John even has photos of Charles Joseph in uniform, from when he became a river policeman (just like his dad).

However, John Fielding has almost no knowledge of the other FORD siblings (Daisy, Cap, Lily, Rose and Don) which is where I can fill him in.

What is interesting is that the family possibly split in two, with Charles and Lionel staying in touch and the others staying in and around southeast London. I have sent photos and a tree to John so am looking forward to finding out more.
