BARNES family in Berwick-upon-Tweed

Found the BARNES family in Tweedmouth in the 1841 census and discover another daughter - the youngest - Charlotte b. about 1838. Also think I’ve found the death of her father, Charles, in 1839. Their mother is widowed in the 1841 census, but as Charlotte is only 3, his death must be recorded in the BMD as she was born after the start of civil registration in 1837. Next steps: order Charles’ death certificate to see if it’s him, and to see what his job was. I also have a possible baptism for Charles on 16 March 1795 in the non-conformist church, Etal, Northumberland. Parents are given as John and Jane. Typical Winking On a recent trawl through the message boards for BARNES, someone had asked the question “does anyone know if there’s a link between the BARNES in Northumberland and being non-conformist?”. Next steps: for future consideration - why were they all baptised in the NC church?
