Got Esther BARNES’ birth cert through this morning. She is my g. grandmother’s sister (Jane), but as Esther is a less common name, I run less of a risk in ordering her birth cert than I do ordering Jane’s. I ordered it to find out her mother’s surname and it’s COATES. Trouble is I can’t find her marriage ANYwhere. All sorts of searches are drawing a blank. Will wait until Northumberland comes online for the 1911 census so I can see how long the couple have been married. Next steps: Find Margaret Ann with her family in previous censuses. Find her marriage to John BARNES.
