I remember my grandmother telling me of her cousins’ names in Australia and Canada and Gloria’s always stood out as it was so long. I have just done a search on the excellent NSW archive search (free) in Australia and found Gloria’s marriage recorded in 1946 to a Richard Henry LAMB. I have searched for deaths up until 1978 (the limit of their searchable archive) and haven’t found either of them, so I’m hoping they’re either alive and well or at least had children I can maybe contact. Lionel’s family are a mystery to me, not least because of his mysterious letter to Daisy (my g.grandmother) in which he talks about them having ‘had words’ before he left England.
