Just updating some details from GenesReunited for Ellen RUSSELL (my 2 x greatgrandmother’s sister) who married Andrew SPENDER, a Danish sailmaker. I was in touch with his great grandson David in 2007 who kindly gave me the photos of Ellen’s wedding certificate, her burial card and her sister Eliza’s burial card too, who is my 2 x great grandmother.

Ellen and Andrew’s son Harold looks remarkably similar to his cousins, the Ford children (Daisy, Lionel, Donald, Captain, Rose, Lily etc) so perhaps the RUSSELL sisters were dark?

Next steps: I’ve emailed David again to make make contact but also ask if he has any other photos of the Russell family. Would love to see what Ellen and Eliza looked like...
